This article presents partial findings from an exploratory study on social media activities amongst young Muslims on Instagram and TikTok. The results indicate that these two platforms not only offer leisure and entertainment activities, but also serve as sources of knowledge and inspiration, even on religious topics. Young people develop different strategies to maintain balance between digital and real-life experiences. Furthermore, the significance of social networks for digital content reflection is highlighted, and the necessity of critically examining the opportunities and risks of social media is emphasized.
