Abstract

Mosques create transnational educational spaces and refer to the effectiveness of the fields of action for the living environments of community visitors. In addition to religious education, they also function as spaces for gender education. Female imams contribute to the implicit and explicit transmission of gender images that require closer examination. Against this background, the study reconstructs the orientations and modes of processing in the gender constructions of female imams, as well as the underlying implicit bodies of knowledge. Uncovering the guiding aspects of gender constructions enables the generation of impulses for gender-sensitive mosque practice, which is indispensable for professionalization and community development.
